Small Business Endorses Kim Thatcher for Secretary of State

— Veteran legislator has a long history of support for Main Street enterprises —

NEWS RELEASE-Ore., Aug. 5, 2020—The political action committee for Oregon’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Kim Thatcher for secretary of state.

“We need to elect as many pro-small business candidates as possible this year – and not just those who say they support small business, but those who will actually make small business a top priority,” said Tom Hammer, a small-business owner from Yamhill County and chairman of the NFIB OR PAC, which made the endorsement. “Kim Thatcher has made that commitment to us. We’ll be looking forward to working with her to make Oregon a better place to do business.”

Added NFIB Oregon State Director Anthony Smith, “Not only is Kim Thatcher an experienced legislator with an outstanding voting record on small business issues, she’s also a small business owner. The secretary of state oversees the Corporations Division and the Office of Small Business Assistance, so it is critical that someone with a proven track record be in that position. Kim Thatcher has a consistent record that small-business owners can trust. She gets our issues and we know where she stands – with Main Street entrepreneurs who are absolutely vital to their local communities and the state’s economy as a whole.”
